Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the cookie base.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar: In a mixing bowl, cream together the salted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Egg White and Vanilla: Mix in the egg white and vanilla extract until well combined for smooth dough consistency.
  4. Add Dry Ingredients: Incorporate the all-purpose flour and baking powder into the mixture, mixing thoroughly until a dough forms.
  5. Roll and Cut Dough: Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Use a round cookie cutter to cut out circles and place them on an ungreased baking pan.
  6. Bake Cookies: Bake in the preheated oven for 6-8 minutes until the cookies are puffy and the surface loses its glossiness but before browning.
  7. Cool Cookies: Remove the cookies from the oven and transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before adding toppings.
  8. Prepare Caramel: While the cookies cool, microwave the unwrapped caramels with milk for 1 minute, stirring at 30 seconds and until smooth and creamy.
  9. Add Caramel to Cookies: Spoon a few teaspoons of the melted caramel over each cooled cookie, spreading it to cover almost the entire surface.
  10. Chill Caramel Layer: Place the caramel-topped cookies in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes until the caramel sets and becomes firm.
  11. Melt Chocolate: Melt the milk chocolate chips in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring between intervals until fully melted and smooth.
  12. Apply Chocolate Layer: Spread a thin layer of melted chocolate over each caramel-topped cookie and allow the chocolate to cool and harden before serving.
