Scale

Ingredients

  • 100 grams mascarpone cheese
  • 8 ladyfingers
  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare Coffee Mixture: Brew a strong cup of coffee and allow it to cool completely. Optionally, stir in the granulated sugar until dissolved to create a sweetened coffee base for soaking the ladyfingers.
  2. Dip Ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture. Ensure they absorb coffee but do not become too soggy to maintain texture.
  3. Layer with Mascarpone: In serving glasses or a small dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers. Spread half of the mascarpone cheese evenly over the ladyfingers. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone layer.
  4. Chill: Cover and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld and the dessert to set nicely.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, dust the top generously with unsweetened cocoa powder for an authentic finish.

Notes

  • Use freshly brewed strong coffee without added cream or sugar unless preferred sweetened.
  • Do not soak ladyfingers too long to prevent sogginess.
  • Chilling time can be extended up to overnight for better flavor development.
  • Optionally, add a splash of coffee liqueur to the coffee for an adult version.
  • This recipe is best served chilled to maintain texture and flavor.
