A vibrant and flavorful Green Goddess Tuna Salad featuring fresh herbs blended into a creamy mayonnaise base, perfect for a light lunch or snack served on toasted bread or crackers.

Ingredients

Scale

Tuna Salad

  • 2 cans Tuna, rinsed and drained, squeezed of all water
  • 6 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 oz Chives
  • 1 oz Basil Leaves
  • 1.5 tbsp Fresh Dill
  • 2 cloves Garlic or 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 Lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Sea Salt, adjust to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tuna: Rinse and drain the tuna using a fine mesh sieve, pressing out all excess water. Transfer the drained tuna to a mixing bowl.
  2. Make the Green Goddess Mayonnaise: In a high-speed blender, combine mayonnaise, chives, basil leaves, fresh dill, garlic, and lemon juice. Blend until fully smooth and the mixture turns a light green color. If you don’t have a blender, finely chop the herbs and garlic, mix into mayonnaise, then add lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Let it sit to meld flavors if using this method.
  3. Combine Tuna and Dressing: Mix the green goddess mayonnaise thoroughly with the prepared tuna until well combined.
  4. Serve: Spoon the tuna salad onto toasted bread or crackers and enjoy immediately or as desired.

Notes

  • To make a tuna melt, spread the tuna salad on bread, top with Swiss or Muenster cheese, and cook in an air fryer, toaster oven, or regular oven for about 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
  • The blending process helps to break down herbs and infuse the mayo with their flavors, giving the salad a smooth texture and vibrant color.
  • You can adjust salt and pepper to taste after mixing for preferred seasoning level.
