For the Dough
- 1 cup / 120 grams Unbleached White All-Purpose Flour, plus 1-2 TBLS for dusting work surface
- ½ cup / 142.5 grams Greek Yogurt (preferably thick Greek yogurt, not Greek Style)
- ½ TSP Fine Sea Salt
- 1 TSP / 5 grams Baking Powder
- ½ TSP Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Optional Seasonings/Herbs: Garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red chili pepper flakes, dried mint, dried basil, oregano, etc.
For Topping
- 3–4 TBLS Pizza Sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- ¾–1 cup Shredded Italian Blend or Mozzarella Cheese (or your preferred cheese)
- 1 TSP Olive Oil (for brushing baking tray)
- Optional toppings: Sliced red or yellow onion, jalapeños, banana peppers, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, olives, pepperoni, chicken, ham, sausage, etc.
- Prep the Oven and Tray: Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with aluminum foil or parchment paper and lightly brush with 1 teaspoon of olive oil to prevent sticking.
- Mix the Dough Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup all-purpose flour, ½ cup Greek yogurt, ½ teaspoon fine sea salt, 1 teaspoon baking powder, optional dried herbs or seasonings, and ½ teaspoon extra virgin olive oil. Stir with a spoon until the mixture forms dough-like crumbles.
- Form the Dough Ball: Use your hands to gather the dough crumbles into a ball. If it’s sticky, add a little more flour; if too dry, add a splash of water.
- Knead and Roll Out: Lightly flour your work surface and knead the dough for about one minute. Roll into a ball and optionally divide into two for individual pizzas. Flatten and roll out to your desired thickness and shape. Thinner dough yields a crispier crust, while thicker dough results in a softer texture.
- Add Sauce and Toppings: Place rolled dough on the prepared tray. Spread 3-4 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over the dough. Add your choice of toppings such as sliced onion, pepperoni, vegetables, and then sprinkle with ¾ to 1 cup shredded cheese.
- Bake the Pizza: Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and starts to brown slightly.
- Cool, Slice, and Serve: Remove pizza from the oven and let it cool for 1-2 minutes. Transfer to a cutting board, slice as desired, and enjoy your homemade Greek yogurt pizza!
Notes
- Use thick Greek yogurt, not Greek Style yogurt, to avoid sticky dough.
- If dough is sticky while kneading, add flour gradually to achieve ideal consistency.
- For gluten-free or wholegrain flour alternatives, expect slight changes in texture and adjust flour quantity accordingly.
- The thinner the dough is rolled, the crispier the crust will be; thicker dough yields softer, pillowy crust.
- Customize toppings to your preference—vegetarian or meat options all work well.
- Brush the baking tray with oil to prevent sticking and help crust crispiness.
