Ingredients

Scale

Trifle Base

  • 1 pan chocolate cake (9×13-inch), baked and cooled

Sauces & Cream

  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 12 oz caramel sauce
  • 1 cup chocolate fudge sauce
  • 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Toppings

  • 6 Heath or Skor bars, chopped

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Whipped Cream. In a cold mixing bowl, beat the cold heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Chill the whipped cream in the refrigerator until ready to use for the trifle assembly.
  2. Cube the Chocolate Cake. Break the baked and cooled chocolate cake into small chunks or cubes, making them easy to layer in the trifle dish.
  3. Start the First Layer. Place one-third of the cake chunks at the bottom of a trifle dish. Drizzle evenly with one-third of the sweetened condensed milk and one-third of the caramel sauce to moisten and flavor the cake layer.
  4. Add Whipped Cream and Fudge. Spread a generous layer of the prepared whipped cream over the soaked cake, then drizzle a layer of chocolate fudge sauce on top to add richness and depth of flavor.
  5. Repeat the Layers. Repeat the layering process two more times by adding the remaining cake chunks, sweetened condensed milk, caramel sauce, whipped cream, and fudge sauce, creating three layers total.
  6. Top and Garnish. For the final touch, top the trifle with whipped cream and sprinkle chopped Heath or Skor bars evenly over the surface. Optionally, drizzle additional fudge sauce on top for extra indulgence.
  7. Chill Before Serving. Refrigerate the assembled trifle for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set properly before serving.

Notes

  • Use a cold bowl and cold cream to ensure the whipped cream whips up properly.
  • For best results, prepare the whipped cream and chill it before assembly.
  • You can substitute Heath or Skor bars with any favorite toffee candy bar.
  • The trifle can be assembled up to a day in advance and kept refrigerated.
  • Ensure the cake is completely cooled before breaking into chunks to prevent sogginess.
  • Adjust sweetness by altering the amount of caramel or fudge sauce used.
